And Chip is adorable. Sad that his owner died but very relieved that after two weeks, that poor soul was found. Rescued pets are the best. Just wallow in the lovely distraction.
He is such a good, loving boy. I'm so sad for his owner but he was clearly loved and taken care of by him. And yes, rescues are the best! We've had rescue pugs (and cats) before and they are forever grateful. We are happily wallowing!
Finishing is tricky. My $0.02 why is because it involves grief. No matter how fabulous the thing you just finished is, it's over and done. It doesn't matter that you can start another one of the same or something new. It's not a big wallop of grief, thank goodness. But, the only way to move on is to move through it. You finished your novel. Feel the grief. You've put the last stitch on the unicorn you crocheted. Why is it a sad little thing? Those twenty pounds you lost this year? Hint: you LOST them. So, that has been my trick for finishing for years. I accept that bit of grief, maybe with some chocolate and a margarita-in-a-can (whoever came up with those is brilliant. Also tacky).
Chip is so sweet! It’s heartwarming to see your grandson loving on this cute little guy—so glad Christmas came early for Chip becoming a new member of your family! Happy Holidays, and I look forward to our special treat of following The Artist’s Way together!
Jon Acuff has a book called "Finish" which may have some good tips for you! Also, congrats on Chip, he's adorable! Merry Everything!
Oh Cheryl, thank you! I'm going to go find that book right now!
Chip is absolutely the best.
Happy holidays to you!
Charlotte, I love your taking the proverbial bull by the horns. Bravo!
I'm determined to make 2025 my year of finishing!
Congrats on the new friend and here is to strong finishes in 2025!
Same to you my friend!

Jacqueline, I love that bit about facing the grief of it. That's new to me and helpful--thank you!
And I feel the same way about wine-in-a-can as you do about margarita-in-a-can. Tacky, but brilliant.
I’m with you on this! Here’s to starting and finishing! And enjoying both even when we don’t know where the finishing might take us.
P.S. Hugely in love with Chip!!!
Thanks for the reminder that I can start enjoying the finishing as well as the starting. That turns my head around in a good way.
And Chip is the biggest love bug ever! We adore him.

I'm so excited about the Artist's Way class! We are going to have fun.
Yes, Chip is the best Christmas present ever!
