Thanks for the Discomfort-logue! It honestly sounds fantastic, stress and all. Great wake-up! (I must get out of the house more often!) I hope you all have a marvelous time. Can't wait to hear more!
Haha, Connie, I've been telling myself the same thing--that I need to get out more when I return home. It's so easy to sick in the routine. Thank you for your good thoughts!
Oh, I have been waiting to hear an update on your travels in London, and that you landed in Wells ready to inspire your workshop participants. And I agree. Travel gets us out of our comfort zones periodically, which is a good thing. Have a wonderful week!
OMG I am so here for your journey. I HAVE to go. Also, are you spying on me? Because I’ve been thrashing as I write this first draft—and longing for the comfort of minor edits to the finished novel I’m querying. But your post, as always gave me an “aha” moment. The weight lifting I do 2x weekly is high intensity: like no more than 2 minutes and I like to muscle exhaustion (unless I’m not fully recovered). It’s uncomfortable, not going to lie. When I meet my fellow lifters leaving their session we always laugh about “thank gid it’s over). But, being willing to be uncomfortable has led to some remarkable physical and mental changes for me. The same is the case for writing. BTW started reading Silver Elite. Muy caliente.
Ah, but you are barreling through the first draft despite the discomfort, right? I love th weight-lifting metaphor and your recognition that being willing to be uncomfortable leads to good changes!

Yes and even though it is uncomfortable I try to welcome it. Marna, we need you to come on one of our junkets, too!
How wonderful! I must join you and your writing
group on a future trip.
Yes! You must! We would love it.
Read, enjoyed, and shared on social media. Any photo of London is a great photo, and you posted many! :-) Enjoy your stay.
Thanks, Roy.
